About the Audi Logo
The Audi logo depicts four rings representing one of the four car companies that joined together back in 1932 to form one of the most famous car brand. There have been multiple logo variations in Audi’s history that either contained wordmarks, symbols or had different colors. The current logo version uses a black color pallet.

Old Audi Logo (1985-2009)
This Audi logo that has the script “Audi” and the four rings interconnected was used between 1985 – 2009. It was introduced after re-branding by Volkswagen. The wordmark “Audi” uses the same slanted tails concept on the “A” and “d” that by graphic designer Lucian Bernhard used on the original Audi logo in 1920. The rings emblem have a white to grey gradient giving a 3D look.
